PROGRAMME II : THE INDUSTRIOUS AND CREATIVITY YEARS
For children aged 6 to 8.
At about age six, a child is at his/her most impressionable stage. If encouraged to be himself/herself at this stage, he/she can blossom and grow. If reprimanded or ignored unhealthily, the child could harbour feelings of inferiority, guilt, shame, fear or anger.
At school, children develop a capacity to work and cooperate with others. Negative experiences at school, with peers or at home lead to feelings of incompetence and inferiority.
THE APPROACH
If the child’s creativity and initiative are appreciated, it boosts the child’s self esteem tremendously. As a part of this programme there are, for instance, left brain and right brain activities, group and individual activities. And there are discussions - groups where each child speaks his/her mind about the activities.
