Couples Adolescents Children Corporates Programmes :HOME:

The teen years are possibly the most difficult years in a person’s life. Along with the physical changes that bring so much of turmoil, there are major emotional and psychological changes happening, simultaneously ... the “child” is really growing into an “adult” ! His way of looking at the world is changing, yet, however the world still treats him as a child.

He / she ends up feeling misunderstood, discounted, unloved and may either turn rebellious or withdrawn.

What he needs to understand is … what is happening and what can be done to make this transition easier on himself.

WHAT IS THE GOAL ?

  • Our Goal is to help the teens cross this “Rubicon” with some information, guidance and awareness that would make it a smoother and easier transition through the process of acceptance.

  • Our philosophy of awareness and acceptance is shared with individuals through a series of games, exercise, discussions helping each to begin to take a closer look at themselves.

WHAT IS THE PROCESS ?

  • Certain tests and matrices are carried out to help the teen get a closer look at his behaviour patterns and habits.

  • We invite teens to understand the skillfully orchestrated process of growth and development where he can see how his personality has been formed.

  • We invite teens to understand why they do the things they do and their ways … also how they mar / hinder them on one hand or help them to grow on the other.

  • This may help the individual to see how he can do things in a way which will give him satisfaction and help him to grow into a balanced and integrated adult.

  • Parents are also invited to participate in a session (after the process) on a participatory and experiential basis so that discussions can replace “lecturers” and views can be aired and shared while interacting with the teenager.

  • Any physical or medical problem will be referred to the appropriate professionals.

During the remedial / psychotherapy programme, the five steps as referred to in the ‘individual section’ are followed for adolescent counselling … however, in this age group the focus remains on identifying innate strength and weakness, abilities and competencies.

THE CAREER AND SELF AWARENESS PROGRAMME – FOR TEENS

  • In order to equip young teens deal with the transition from a sheltered school life and get ready for their work life, this programme aims at career options that they can realistically view.

  • The focus remains on identifying innate strengths and weaknesses, abilities and competencies. It also aims at enhancing interpersonal skills.

  • Various psychometrics are used in this phase for self analysis.
